In the last century, the château de Toulouze estate covered a much larger area. Livestock rearing was its dominant activity, but the production of quality wines was always present. This property is listed in the first editions of our work; its wines were then highly sought after. Then, following successions, this large estate was broken up.
At present, the 19.60-hectare vineyard in a single block represents only about half of the property.
All care is devoted to traditional viticulture (animal manure and ploughing) and to meticulous vinification. Partial destemming is carried out, along with long fermentations and maceration, punctuated by numerous pumping overs.
The Grézillac laboratory, whose reputation is well established, monitors this vineyard, whose brilliant, clear wines with a floral bouquet (violet) and red fruit delight the enthusiast with the silkiness of their tannins.
