In the middle of the 19th century, the Rouanet family acquired and developed the Domaine du Sartre, bordered to the south and west by the “Esteys” of Sartre and of the Eau Blanche, a small tributary of the Garonne.
Owners until 1945, they developed the vineyard, whose reputation continued to grow over time. The wars of the 20th century and the phylloxera crisis got the better of the Domaine du Sartre, whose vines were grubbed up and the land broken up.
In the early 1980s, Antony Perrin and his sister Marie-José Leriche joined forces to reconstitute and restore château Le Sartre. Since 2004, she has taken the reins of the property with the help of her husband and of David Château, their oenologist.
Located on the edge of the Landes forest, between Domaine de Chevalier and châteaux Malartic-Lagravière and Fieuzal, château Le Sartre has a terroir of great quality, very favourable to the birth of great white and red wines.
