A family operation for 4 generations, Château de Roquebrune is distinguished by a great respect for nature. This wine is a living being to which the owner has given all his care. Regular work of the soil with respect for the environment, hand harvesting at an optimum stage of ripeness and vinification conducted with the greatest attention have made it possible to make a wine of distinct type, rich, persistent on the nose as on the palate, with ripe and tasty tannins, and good keeping qualities.
After a career in industry, Florent Guinjard took over the reins of the family estate in 2002, after a year of training to become a young farmer. In 2003, he bought 0.6 ha at Néac, then 2.2 ha in 2004 right next to his vine plots. In 2006, the most distant plots were exchanged in order to group the vines around the cellar. In 2009, 1 ha of additional vines bought with his customers enlarged the existing area. In 2010, Florent Guinjard acquired his uncle’s vines.
It is worth noting that it is the grandchildren of the people who harvested with the owner’s grandparents who pick the grapes today.
