In the 18th century, Château Franc-Pourret belonged to the Duplessis-Foucaud family. In 1841, Lecoutre de Beauvais listed it among the “Premiers Grands Crus de Saint-Émilion”.
In 1956, the Ouzoulias family acquired it.
Located 800 metres from the bell tower of Saint-Émilion, in the Grands Crus area of the appellation, its vineyard is essentially on hillsides, planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Its privileged exposure and the qualities of its clay-limestone soil give this grand cru class, body and power. It is a wine for laying down, sought after by French and foreign connoisseurs.
It is important to note that this wine has also had certified organic status since 1989, and has been vinified under the FNIVAB charter since 2003, under Ecocert France control.
Les Vignobles Ouzoulias also run Clos Chante l’Alouette and Domaine du Haut-Patarabet in the same appellation.
