Château l’Église Clinet is located on the magnificent clay-gravel terroir that surrounds the site of the old church of Saint-Jean.
Only the historic vineyard of less than 4.5 ha, planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, rarely produces more than 15 tonneaux of a wine full of nuances, with floral and ripe-fruit aromas, a dense texture and a voluptuous depth.
The recent plantings, more than 8,000 vines per ha, undertaken with the support of the family that has owned the clos for many generations, bear witness to the constant desire to improve the plot selections, which allow M. Denis Durantou to market also La Petite Église under the Pomerol appellation d’origine contrôlée.
