Château de Clotte

Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux • 65 HA

The estate

In brief

Built in 1782, Château de Clotte is a Louis XV building in the form of a chartreuse, one storey high, with a central block topped by a pediment.
The site was chosen for its soil and subsoil, a terroir very well suited to the vine.
Thus this jewel rises at the centre of a setting formed by wooded hills, whose dark green of pines contrasts in spring with the tender green of the vines.
The property, made up of 65 ha in a single block, includes 20 hectares of vines, grouped on the best terroirs.
In 2002, Bruno Laporte bought the property from the Guerret-Denies family. He carried out major renovation and modernisation work on the vinification and ageing cellars, in order to position the wines of Château de Clotte among the very best of the appellation.
Part of the wine is marketed under another brand: Château Maugresin de Clotte.
