Rochebelle is a small family jewel perched on the heights of Saint-Émilion. Thanks to its exceptional position between Pavie and Troplong-Mondot and its east-south-east orientation, this estate is one of the flagships of the appellation.
Natural drainage in rainy periods, the coolness of the clay-limestone soil in drought years, and the depth of soil (20 cm) are the unquestionable privileges of this terroir, which make it possible to harvest an always extremely healthy crop and very ripe, concentrated berries.
Meticulous work in the vineyard, careful hand harvesting and sophisticated sorting equipment are determining factors.
At the time of vinification, a skilful balance between concentration without exaggeration and fruitiness contributes to the balance of every vintage and to the personality of Rochebelle.
Ageing in new barrels and the maturing of the bottles in monolithic 18th-century cellars help make this grand cru the wine for laying down par excellence.
Its classification as a Grand Cru Classé is a fitting reward for the work accomplished over many decades.
