In 1986, this cru consisted of only 2 ha. With great courage and tenacity, Fabienne and Philippe Videau enlarged the property through successive acquisitions. Between 1986 and 1997, they brought the vineyard to its present area in production. Until then, they had been members of the cooperative. They then decided to “go it alone” and to vinify for their own account. Their own production began with the 1999 vintage.
In 2002, they increased the area of land with the purchase of land within the appellation area, located in the commune of Civrac at Trembleaux. They planted 3.5 ha in 2003. The year 2004 saw the planting of a further 3 ha.
The traditional grape varieties give the cru a harmonious balance that lacks neither power nor elegance. The work in the vineyard is traditional and carried out with great rigour.
Fabienne and Philippe Videau have taken the path towards sustainable production. In 2006 the property was certified as sustainable farming.
One can only encourage this dynamic and vigorous young couple to follow the demanding path of quality, always moving towards the continuity and tradition of Médoc wines. The first wines tasted are opulent and refined, with a homogeneous structure. The whole is pure and straight, with fine typicity.
