The existence of the noble house of Ramafort is undisputed in 1240. Owned by Domaines Rothschild, the vineyard, which extends over an exceptional terroir around the château, underwent a vast restructuring plan in the early 1970s.
The new owners, Domaines C.G.R., have since 1990 provided exceptional resources for the viticultural and winemaking facilities. The best of technology was selected for complete control of the harvest, enabling Magali Guyon’s team to optimise the quality of the wines. The bottles then wait in an underground cellar to reach full maturity.
The grape varieties of château Ramafort give a wine of sumptuous colour. Full and very concentrated from its youth, it will evolve towards greater complexity and finesse in the 4 to 10 years following the harvest.
The 1995 vintage won the Cru Bourgeois cup in 1998.
