The estate

In brief

Château Tour Castillon, Cru Bourgeois 1932, has been a family property for 4 generations, its vineyard planted around its cellars.
Its terroir lies on the only gravel rise in the Médoc whose base is bathed by the estuary.
The vineyard, planted on the hillside, overlooks the river at the foot of the ruins of the old English fort which once defended access to the port of Bordeaux. To this day, two towers still bear witness to that tragic era when pro-English and pro-French Aquitanians killed one another.
The grape varieties of the Château Tour Castillon vineyard are traditional and typical of the Médoc.
The wines produced, with a fine bouquet and full of finesse, are highly prized by the Belgians.
In the purest Médoc craft tradition, the Peyruse family takes an active part in the life of the estate, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. So, on any visit to this corner of the Médoc, you will always be welcome to taste, in the cellar, the wines of Château Tour Castillon and Château Moulin de Taffard, always well rated in the various specialist reviews.
