The estate

In brief

The château and its vineyard are located at one of the highest points of the commune of Valeyrac. The château and the vineyard admirably overlook the Gironde estuary.
The estate today comprises vines on rises and plateaux that are in places sand-gravel over alios, and in places ferruginous-coloured gravel-clay with a gravelly, stony subsoil. A true rock of fine rubble stone, the upper part was once broken up and the stone removed to make cultivation easier.
Château Roquegrave takes its name from this terroir.
The vineyard is planted exclusively with selected grape varieties, whose proportions have been carefully studied. As a result, the wines, well constituted, have a delicate sap, tannin and a pretty colour. They acquire in bottle an excellent bouquet, fine and perfumed, and are particularly sought after.
