The estate

In brief

Château Dasvin-Bel-Air, also called Bel-Air (Cru Bourgeois in 1932, its classification confirmed in 2003), belonged in the 19th century to M. Faydit. Its vineyard is today run by the Tessandier family.
The vines of Château Dasvin-Bel-Air are located on the highest plateau of Blanquefort, on lean coarse gravel resting on a thin layer of sand and a bed of yellow arena.
A plot of 6 hectares in a single block, formerly part of the old jurisdiction of Cantemerle in Macau, set on a rise of Garonne gravel over clay subsoils, has been attached to the château.
Vinification is carried out using traditional methods: total destemming, fermentation of the must in stainless steel vats, fermentation temperature kept between 28° and 30°C, three pumping-overs a day.
The wines of Château Dasvin-Bel-Air are aged for 16 months, 60% of them in oak barrels, of which about one eighth is renewed each year with new ones. They are marketed notably by the company Ambrosia, both in France and abroad (Belgium, Germany, England, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, etc.).
The Tessandier family also owns Château Maucamps, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, Haut-Médoc, as well as Château Lescalle, Bordeaux Supérieur.
Regularly awarded medals at the Concours de Paris.
