In response to society’s demand for respect for the environment, human health and also naturalness, biocontrol for combating vine diseases and pests is now developing in a multitude of directions.
The scientific underpinnings of these techniques are being studied through different approaches in the fields of plant pathology, genetics and microbiology. However, despite this knowledge, biocontrol often requires the concrete adoption of an integrated pest management approach, favouring prevention and natural regulation, combined with other agroecological levers. This in turn forces the grower to change profoundly his or her own model of thought and action, which is often a brake on its adoption, all the more so as its effectiveness is often questioned.
What are the scientific foundations explaining the mechanisms at work? Which solutions prove effective, both locally and on a large scale? And finally, what experimental validations make it possible to envisage global recommendations?
Through scientific presentations, feedback from the field and interaction between research and businesses, the seminar will provide answers to these questions in order to propose new directions for collaborative research.
