Located in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region in Jugazan, Château Joinin is a 25-hectare family estate that Brigitte Mestreguilhem, Richard’s wife, inherited in 1989 when the family estate was split in two. She decided to leave the local cooperative and, in 1990, created the “Château Joinin” brand in reference to the locality of Joinin where the house and winery are located. The first step, in 1989, was to replant almost the entire vineyard with Merlot. The meticulous attention paid to the vines and the rigorous management of the vineyard, while respecting the characteristics of the soil and terroir, have resulted in grapes of exceptional quality. In 2000, the château invested in a new vat room equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and a cellar, enabling more precise and qualitative work during vinification and ageing.
