The estate

In brief

A little history Situated on the route to Santiago de Compostela, the Graves region has contributed to the worldwide renown of the great wines of Bordeaux. It is even said that the Emperor Charlemagne stayed in La Brède on his way back from Roncesvalles… Fertile land La Brède, a renowned area, is home to Montesquieu’s poetic château and its famous library. Its soil is generally gravelly, sandy or clay-limestone. Its neighbour, Saint-Selve, has more siliceous and clayey soils, and the wines of Château d’Arguin and Domaine du Reys come from these terroirs. The Graves and these vineyards benefit from a wonderfully balanced grape variety (Semillon – Sauvignon Blanc / Merlot – Cabernet Sauvignon). They enjoy superb exposure, and today cover 13 hectares. A traditional method Selective harvesting and traditional vinification in a cellar equipped with high-performance equipment are key factors in the success of Château d’Arguin’s red and white wines. These young, distinctive wines can be drunk now, but will be just as enjoyable as wines for laying down. Bertrand Lacampagne and his team are winegrowers by birth, and invite you to stop off and discover the vineyard and its wines. A warm and passionate team will be delighted to welcome you for a convivial tasting session.
