The estate

In brief

This charming château, which takes its name from the small tower attached to the building, was acquired by Madame Loubat in 1917, at the time head of Château Pétrus. It has been leased by Ets Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1962, and the family officially acquired the property in 2024. The vineyard is distinguished by the diversity of its soils, which give the wine both complexity and harmony: gravel and clay in a remarkable plot near the church in Pomerol, and silty soils around the château. The same meticulous care is taken here as on all the Ets Jean-Pierre Moueix estates: leaf removal and green harvesting to ensure optimum ripeness, followed by hand-picking. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats, before ageing in oak barrels. Château Latour in Pomerol is renowned for producing generous, concentrated wines that strike a perfect balance between elegance and power.
