From 1938 onwards, Louis Rapin invested in the vineyards of Montagne and Saint-Émilion (Château La Tour Figeac), and in 1961 bought his neighbour’s vineyard in the Pomerol appellation, around which he grouped other plots and renamed the estate Château La Rose Figeac. In 1972, through inheritance, Françoise Rapin, his daughter, and Gérard Despagne, his son-in-law, sons of a Saint-Emilion family with over three centuries of history (Château Grand Corbin-Despagne), took over part of the vineyards.
Nathalie took over the management of Château La Rose Figeac, Pomerol, on 1 August 2013, with the following projects in mind: immediately building on the original winery and equipping it with a vinification vat and an ageing cellar; in 2015, building an air-conditioned storage cellar; and in 2017, building an office outside her home, with a reception area for tastings (by appointment); and always keeping a close eye on the vineyard and respecting the environment (EMS certified).
