Château Bellevue, formerly known as the “Fief de Bellevue”, belonged to the Lacaze family for three centuries. It was the refuge of Gaston Lacaze, the famous Girondin, during the Revolution of 1789. The property was bought by Louis Horeau from his Lacaze cousins in 1938, much to the regret of Maurice de Boüard de Laforest, neighbour and owner of Angélus. 70 years later, Maurice de Boüard’s grandchildren fulfilled his dream by joining forces with the Horeau family, and since 2007 the Pradel de Lavaux and Boüard de Laforest families have been working to give Château Bellevue the status it deserves.
