Ever since he took over the family estate in 1993, Éric Léglise has been committed to healthy viticulture, and the vines have never been weeded. He gradually introduced original agroecological methods in line with his principles (mating disruption, indigenous plant cover, use of compost, shredding of vine shoots, preservation of ecosystems near the vines, late mowing, etc.). Today, the vineyard is covered with flowers in spring, providing pollen and nectar for the various pollinators, bees and bumblebees, that populate this original biotope. Nearly 200 different species have been recorded at Château le Coteau. Here, we strive to express the purest character of the terroir. Careful barrel ageing adds complexity and depth. With a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines are fine and elegant.
